Colombian President Juan Manuel Santos asked the country’s police Wednesday to “get to the bottom” of the bomb threat against former President Alvaro Uribe.
“I asked Gen. [Oscar] Naranjo to get to the bottom of the case on the artifact found in Argentina where Pres. Uribe would talk,” President Santos wrote on his Twitter account.
Santos’ comment was in response to the discovery of an explosive in a light fixture at the Teatro Gran Rex in Buenos Aires, Argentina where the ex-president was scheduled to speak Wednesday.
“The government is doing and will do whatever is necessary to ensure the safety of President Uribe and his family,” added Santos.
