Colombia Health authorities raised the number of confirmed cases of
AH1N1, or Swine flu, to 88 Monday after another eight people were confirmed to
have the virus.
The announcement comes less than one day after the confirmation of the 80th infection.
The Bogota patients did not travel to Mexico or the United States and have no relatives who could have contaminated them.
One of the Cali cases also has no history of traveling outside the country.
The new cases indicate that the flu is spreading within Colombia and is not just carried by those who traveled to the U.S. or Mexico when AH1N1 broke out there without precautionary measures.
