77 die in December holiday traffic accidents

77 people died and 337 were injured in traffic accidents during this
year’s December holidays so far, Colombian police announced Saturday.

With five days to go before the end of the year, Police concluded that the number of injuries had gone down compared to last year. In the complete month of December of 2007, 82 Colombians died in traffic and another 359 were injured.

More Colombians traveled this year compared to last year. According to police figures, some six million vehicles were registered on Colombian highways, 800,000 more than 2007.
