6 ‘FARC’ captured by police in west Colombia

Police captured six alleged members of left wing guerrilla group FARC Wednesday in west Colombia, reported Colombian media.

The six men were allegedly members of the FARC’s 25th Front, and have been linked to kidnapping and extortion in the country’s southwestern departments of Huila and Caqueta.

The arrests were made after months of investigations and the acquisition of nine arrest warrants for crimes of kidnapping, extortion, rebellion, conspiracy, and unlawful possession of weapons.

According to authorities, the FARC’s 25th Front is currently highly active in the north of the department of Huila.
