5.6 magnitude earthquake hits northern Colombia

Northern Colombia was hit by a 5.6 magnitude earthquake Friday, confirmed local authorities.

According to Deputy Director of the Colombian Geological Service Martha Calvache, the earthquake struck at 8:43am Friday, with its epicenter in Mesa de los Santos, Santander Department.

No deaths or serious damage were reported at the time of publication.
