Clutching balloons and topped with a party hat, Shakira posed in a special photo posted on her Facebook page after hitting the 50 million fan milestone.
In one of the more demure photos of the superstar, Shakira held a sign proclaiming the 50 million Facebook “likes.”
“Wow! 50 million fans on Facebook. This is incredible,” says a note accompanying the photo. “Thanks so much for all the love! A kiss. Shak.”
As of the publication of this article, the post had received 127,7862 likes and 9267 comments, including “it is small compared to what you deserve.”
Her latest “likes” tally had climbed to 50,017,710.
The pop icon’s Facebook page features clips from her latest music video, “Addicted to You,” still images from the shoot, as well as news and comments from Shakira herself.
Shakira has 15,954,130 followers on Twitter, about ten million behind top tweeter Lady Gaga’s 24,024,419.
On Thursday Shakira was nominated for two Youth Awards in the “Best Moves” and “My Pop Artist” categories.
