4.5 earthquake shakes northeast Colombia

An earthquake measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale hit the north east of Colombia on Thursday morning.

According to the country’s geological institute, the earthquake occurred some 20 miles north of the city of Bucaramanga and 90 miles below the surface.

Local authorities reported no injuries or damage.
