An extensive poll among 16,000 Colombians shows that only 34 percent of the country’s people believe they live in a democracy.
Even though Colombia throughout the Americas is considered one of the most stable and longlasting democracies, the majority of the Colombians seem to disagree.
Ten percent of the people are certain Colombia is not a democracy and 55 percent thinks it’s only half a democracy.
Despite the fact that the majority doesn’t feel they are living in a democracy, 78% of those asked prefered this form of government than whatever form.
