Three soldiers were killed in a FARC minefield Tuesday, while a police officer was seriously wounded in a guerrilla attack on a roadblock in southwest Colombia.

The three Colombian soldiers were killed while providing security to a group of illicit crop eradicators when they walked into a minefield in the southwestern department of Nariño.

Meanwhile, fighting broke out in the municipality of Tuquerres in the same department, which left one guerrilla dead and one police officer gravely wounded.

The fighting occurred when uniformed personnel were trying to install a roadblock and were attacked by the rebels.
