3 soldiers die in FARC attack in northeast Colombia

Three soldiers were killed and six injured in a FARC attack in a rural municipality of the Arauca department in northeast Colombia Monday.

The ambush occurred 11:30AM Monday as the military patrol carried out monitoring and recording operations in the municipality of Tame, Arauca department, in the of the Eastern Plains region. The injured were taken a hospital in the capital of the department.

The perpetrators are believed to be the Alfonso Castellanos Column of the FARC’s 10th Front. According to an Armed Forces statement, the troops were from the Terrestrial Combat Battalion No 45.
