3 police injured in southwest Colombia ‘FARC attack’

Thee policemen were injured Saturday when alleged members of the FARC threw a grenade at a police post in a village in the southwest of Colombia.

According to local media, the grenade attack occurred just before midnight when most residents of the town of Timbiqui were outside celebrating Christmas eve.

Two of the injured policemen were taken to hospital in critical condition.

The attack took place exactly two weeks after 380 resident fled the Pacific coastal town following threats by alleged neo-paramilitaries.
