3 FARC guerrillas captured in Caqueta, south Colombia

Three members of Colombia’s largest guerrilla group the FARC were captured by police in Florencia, the capital of the Caqueta department, news source RCN reported Thursday.

Police chief Carlos Alberto Vargas Rodriguez said that one of the guerrillas is Afranio Gonzalez Rincon, alias “El Zarco,” who was involved with the death of two members of Colombia’s Technical Investigation Team (CTI) in 2004 near the town of Puerto Rico in the department of Caqueta.

Rodriguez also said that one guerrilla from the FARC’s 15th Front was injured in combat against the army in the town of Milan and later captured in a neighborhood in the department’s capital city of Florencia.
