2nd police station bombed in 24hrs, 5 dead

At least five people have died and more have been injured in a second police station attack in Colombia Thursday, reported local media.

According to preliminary media reports, a car bomb exploded lunchtime outside the municipal police station in Villa Rica, Cauca department, with neighboring houses also damaged.

The attack is the second major attack on a police station in two days: On Wednesday at least 11 people were killed in the southwestern two of Tumaco when alleged FARC rebels detonated a bomb outside the police station there.

At least 16 people are now confirmed dead and more than 60 injured following several suspected guerrilla in southwest and central Colombia.
