Police in the Antioquia department on Thursday arrested 25 alleged members of drug gangs active in the north of the department.

The detainees are suspected members of “Los Urabeños,” “Los Paisas,” and “Los Rastrojos” and were arrested in the towns of Yarumal, Vegachi, Santa Rosa de Osos, San Andres de Cuerquia, San Jeronimo, Santo Domingo, Valdivia, Zaragoza, Caceres, Nechi, Frontino and San Antonio de Prado.

One of those arrested is “El Zarco,” who is alleged to lead a group of hitmen and is held responsible for six homicides in the town of Yarumal.
