23 injured when stage of live comedy show collapses

23 people were injured when the stage of a live comedy show collapsed in western Colombia, local media reported Monday.

The incident took place in Tulua during a live show including stars of Colombian television.

According to Tulua’s voluntary fire service, scaffolding supporting the stage collapsed when the crowd rushed the stage when the performance ended. Fire service spokesman, Anzicar Zapata, said that “wet weather” had contributed to the structure’s collapse.

Most of the injured were discharged from hospital early Monday morning.
