195 firearms missing from Colombia’s House of Representatives

Roughly 155 pistols and 40 semi-automatic weapons have mysteriously disappeared from Colombia’s House of Representatives.

According to newspaper El Tiempo, records provided by the Congress’ warehouse show that the majority of the arms are in the hands of current and ex-lawmakers.

Newspaper El Espectador reported that only seven guns are known to be in the hands of former representatives.

House President Simon Gaviria Muñoz said that the register of the warehouse of the corporation should be revised to “put this in order.”

“I don’t know how detailed the inventory is in the warehouse and because of that we are going to verify if the guns are in the hands of current congresspersons and that there isn’t a single ex-legislator that still has possession of guns from the House because this is would be embezzlement and illegal bearing of arms,” the house president confirmed.
