14 DAS officials dismissed over illegal wiretaps

DAS director Felipe Muñoz dismissed 14 officials who had kept
information on the secret service’s
illegal wiretapping of opposition politicians, journalists and Supreme
Court judges from prosecution inspectors.

In a letter to the director of the Prosecution’s investigation team, Marilu Mendez, the head of the secret service wrote that the officials had been manipulating information and trying to hinder the investigation into the wiretap scandal.

The DAS director announced he would implement special measures to monitor wiretaps.
