The national police announced Wednesday that they have arrested 127 members of criminal gangs so far in 2010.
The latest arrest was Jose Omar Arango Pineda, a member of the criminal gang known as “Cuchillo,” W Radio reported.
Police added that they had also seized 43 knives from members of these groups, 1,094 cartridges of ammunition and more than 48 kilos of drugs in January of this year.
According to the police no trade union members or human rights defenders have been murdered so far in 2010.
