Colombia’s national police Monday captured eleven alleged FARC guerrillas in
the Meta department who are said to be close to the rebel commander ‘Mono Jojoy’.

The arrested suspects belong to the FARC’s 40th Front, Police says. “The Front is one of the most belligerent of the terrorist organization. They are responsible for a major number of terrorist attacks against security forces, road and energy infrastructure as well as kidnappings, disappearances and extortion,” lcoal police commander Gilberto Ramirez Calle told local media.

The 40th Front is also responsible for providing logistical support to ‘Mono Jojoy’, the FARC’s No. 2, Calle added.

The suspects will be prosecuted for the crimes of rebellion and conspiracy to commit a crime.
