100,000 Paisas visit free Juanes concert

A free concert by Colombian rocker Juanes drew 100,000 people in
Medellín Friday. The concert was the singer’s Christmas gift to
his hometown.

The concert, broadcast live on local television, was held on the highway next to the Medellín river that’s currently lit by thousands of Christmas lights.

Juanes, dressed in Johnny-Cash black, performed for an ecstatic crowd for nearly two and a half hours, at one point joined by a local children’s choir, dressed in white, to perform a Christmas song.

The blocking of the highway and the transport of the massive amount of people to and from the concert led to an almost complete stoppage of traffic in Medellín.
