1 dead, at least 30 injured in bus accident in northern Colombia

At least one person died and at least another 30 were injured in a traffic accident in the north of Colombia.

According to local authorities, the accident took place between the Caribbean port city of Barranquilla and the town of Baranoa, both located in the Atlantico department.

Local media contradict about the actual number of victims; According to lost local media, at least 30 were injured. National press agency Colprensa reported 39 injuries.

According to newspaper El Tiempo, the bus flipped when it suddenly had to avoid crashing into an upcoming truck and the driver lost control of his vehicle.

The injured passengers were all taken to hospitals in Barranquilla.
