Visitors to Medellin who want to know more about the city's most famous criminal Pablo Escobar are now able to meet the late drug lord's family as part of a local tour.
The meet and greet is organized by ZORBA, a small Medellin tourist organization that offers several tours around the city.
"For those who have read up on Escobar's legacy, most Pablo Escobar tours struggle to provide new insights. But, by incorporating a trip to meet his family that’s no longer the case,” the tour operator said in a press release.
ZORBA director Jamie Gerig told Colombia Reports that tourists don't have to walk on egg shells when talking to the Escobar family. "My brief experience talking to Roberto Escobar is that he enjoys the tour more when people ask tough questions and analyze his responses," Gerig said.
Despite Medellin's efforts to rid itself of the Escobar shadow, hundreds of tourists each years flock to Colombia's second largest city to find out more about the drug lord.
