Colombia's capital Bogota will open a new free bilingual bus route to tourists, bringing culture, knowledge and fun to the city's mass transit program, the major announced Thursday.
Samuel Moreno Rojas, mayor of Bogota, said the new route will run twice a day and be staffed by bilingual tour guides. In the morning the bus route will be available to students and on weekends and afternoons it will be available to visitors to the city.
Reports by Radio Santa Fe confirm that each of the four proposed routes will feature locations relevant to the city's heritage. Each route will have a theme; education and culture, business and industry, and the environment, offering tourists a chance to explore different aspects of Colombia's capital.
Stops will include the Luis Angel Arango Library, the National University, Virgilio Barco Library, the industrial and the financial district. The environmental route will include stops at the city's beautiful botanical garden and the Simon Bolivar Park.

... Seems like a good idea as long as the city also provides sufficient security, otherwise these busses will be easy targets for every thug in the city. |
