Cost of Colombian airfares continues to drop

Colombia news - no tickets

The price of airfares in Colombia recorded a 19 per cent drop in September compared to the same period last year.

This drop was confirmed by the economic deputy director of the Air Transport Association of Colombia, ATAC, Daniel Devis.

This situation is primarily due to the large number of ticket promotions currently on offer in Colombia, reported Caracol Radio.

Devis said that international air tickets had been reduced by close to 4 per cent on almost all routes. He also said that the low rates might well continue all the way through to the peak end-of-year season.

Devis confirmed that so far this year the reduction in the cost of domestic air travel is 15 percent, 6 per cent on international routes.

In conjunction with reduced ticket prices, passenger traffic in Colombia in the first eight months of this year has presented a growth of 6 per cent, 3.1 per cent on the international level.
