Colombian walks from Argentina to Alaska

Colombian Henry Sanchéz isn't crazy, but he is walking 30,000 kilometers from the south of Argentina to the northernmost U.S. State Alaska.

The 35-year old university teacher from Ipiales started his hike in the Argentinian city of Ushuaia seven months ago and arrived in the Bolivian capital La Paz this weekend.

Sanchéz hopes to arrive in Alaska within 30 months, walking an avarage of 1000 kilometers a month. The Colombian hopes to collect funds for a rehabilitation center for handicapped in his hometown.

The hiker isn't sure he will make it to Alaska, because of U.S. border patrol. "I have all reasons for them to refuse me entrance into the United States. I have no money and no job," Sánches told Spanish press agency jokingly.

Sanchéz trip will take him through 16 countries.
