50,000 people gathered in the streets of Cali Friday to enjoy the official start of the legendary Feria de Cali, which this year did not just fill the salsadrome parade with salsa, but also some of Brazil's finest samba groups.

Cali kicked off its 52nd feria Friday, an annual tradition of seven days of non-stop partying with a parade featuring 2000 salsa and samba dancers, salsa orchestras Niche and Guayacan, performances from 30 dance local schools and international salsa and samba stars Yoldance from Cuba and the Leopold Samba School from Brazil.

Cali will be celebrating the second Annual Marimba festival on December 18, 19 and 20. The festival, preceeding the great Feria, will be a gathering of art, food, folklore and Pacific music.

Cali's Museo Tertulia in the coming month will be hosting an exhibit featuring replicas of machines and inventions by Italian renaissance artist Leonardo Da Vinci.
