Official sources confirmed on Sunday that Colombian President Alvaro Uribe contracted the AH1N1 flu on his trip to Argentina where he attended a special summit of South American leaders.
According to Social Welfare Minister Diego Palacio, Uribe suffered a severe flu on Saturday, one day after the meeting on Colombia's plans to allow U.S. troops access to Colombian military bases.
Palacio told reporters the President is responding well to treatment.
Uribe's spokesman told reporters the President will continue working, despite his illness.
To date, 621 cases of swine flu have been recorded in Colombia of which
34 have proved fatal.

... I don't think swine flu = pig is fair to the rest of the people who have contracted swine flu. But, at the very least, it makes you question the hand washing policy at the Casa Nariño. Above all, this is just an incredibly random and bizarre turn of events! Wow! |
