Colombia Health authorities raised the number of confirmed cases of
AH1N1, or Swine flu, to 143 Thursday after another five people were confirmed to
have the virus.
The announcement comes less than one day after the confirmation of thirteen other cases.
The new AH1N1 patients are from Cali (2), Bucaramanga (1), Barranquilla (1) and Chia (1).
The patients, all adults, are allowed no visitors and are recuperating.
Since the break out of the virus, Colombian authorities issued an alert for possible swine flu in 3898 cases. 1787 people are currently considered "suspicious cases" because of symptoms that resemble that of AH1N1.
So far, four people died because of the swine flu.
The confirmed cases are in Bogota (43, including three deaths), Cundinamarca (8, including one death), Barranquilla (12), Valle (30), Yopal (9), Medellin (10), Guatape (1), Itagui (1), Cartagena (2), Santander (6), Norte de Santander (2), Risaralda (3), Tolima (4), Caldas (1), Huila (1), Cauca (1), Atlantico (2), Boyaca (6) and Putumayo (1).
