Colombian prosecutors Thursday opened an investigation against former paramilitary John Jairo 'Junior' Garcia Vargas for alleged torture, killing, forced disappearance of 50 people in the Casare department.
The investigation against 'Junior' is based on complaints of victim's families who claim that between 2002 and 2003 at least 50 people in Recetor and Chameza (Casare) disappeared or were killed.
The Prosecution found out that paramilitaries in Casare tortured, killed and dismembered people who were suspected of collaborating with left wing guerrillas.
