Colombia recalls ambassador from Honduras

Colombia's government Wednesday recalled its ambassador from Honduras and reiterated that it will only recognize Jose Manuel Zelaya Rosales as President of the central American country.

In a press release, Colombia "demands the immediate, safe and unconditional" return of President Zelaya to its constitutional functions and announced it recalled its ambassador "for consultation."

Colombia's government also supports the 72 hours ultimatum for the return of Zelaya imposed by the Organization of American States (OAS).

The OAS condemned "strongly" the military coup on Sunday and rejected the government formed by the new president of Honduras, Robert Micheletti.
