German Vargas Lleras Tuesday announced his candidacy for the presidential elections in 2010 this Tuesday. He will run for Cambio Radical.
Vargas Lleras made his candidacy public via a video on his website.
The Cambio Radical politicians will run for the elections "in any case". Even if President Alvaro Uribe will run for his third term.
Cambio Radical has supported President Alvaro Uribe in the last two presidential elections. The party was created in 1998 when members separated from the Colombian Liberal Party.
Vargas Lleras persistency in running for the 2010 Presidency himself, lead to
friction within his own party.
