Colombia news - Freddy Rendon

Demobilized paramilitary warlord and brother of 'Don Mario', Freddy 'El Aleman' Rendon said that he payed 2 billion pesos, around US$1 million, to politicians in North Colombia.

'El Aleman' confessed to the Prosecution that he made transactions through a political movement called 'Big Uraba United and in Peace' in 2002 to politicians of Uraba and Cordoba.

According to the former paramilitary leader, congress candidates, mayors and governors received U.S.$ 125,000. 'El Aleman' also said that his paramilitary group financed 60 per cent of the political movement projects.
