Uribe urges Armed Forces to keep FARC out

Colombian President Alvaro Uribe Saturday urged the country's Armed Forces not to let down its guard and keep the FARC out of cities.

The President spoke Saturday befere the city council of Arauca, close to the border of Venezuela, recalling the kidnapping of a member of the council in Garzon, Huila, where FARC guerrillas were able to enter the town, kill four and kidnap the local politician.

"I have to repeat a thousand times to the Armed Forces that they have done an heroic job. We must not let us guard down. Every day we keep up our continuous improvement. (...) We can not allow more kidnappings," the President said.
