Colombian senator Rubén Darío Quintero has been arrested for involvement with illegal armed groups. Quintero, former mayor of the Antioquian city of Rionegro was arrested in his outhouse in the east of Antioquia, Colombian newspaper El Tiempo reports.The "Radical Change"senator is being investigated for his alleged links with demobilized paramilitary leader Freddy 'the German' Rendón. He's also suspected of rigging his election into congress, after winning surprisingly convincingly in the region of Urabá.In his statements to the Justice Department, Rendón said that Quintero was supported by his paramilitary organization to get high voting in the areas where they operated.
