Forensic investigators confirmed the death of Martha Isabel Ardila Castellanos, alias 'Mariana Páez', the right hand of 'Mono Jojoy'.

'Mariana Páez' was killed last Friday when her guerrilla group clashed with the Colombian army's 5th Division in San Juan, Cundinamarca. During the same battle, the army also was able to kill FARC commander 'Gaitán'.

According to authorities, the guerrilla was in charge of the communication for 'Mono Jojoy' and his Oriental Block and a member of the guerrilla's Central Command.
