Murcia: "They are offering 300 million pesos to kill me"

DMG director David Murcia Guzmán says his life is in danger. "They are paying 300 million pesos (US$145 thousand) to have me killed," he told RCN Radio from jail Thursday.

According to the jailed entrepreneur and suspected mafia money launderer, he has been receiving anonymous phone calls wherein he is threatened with death.

Murcia is expected to reveal the names of people who supported his company "in due time". On this list supposedly are journalists who were bribed by the company and a lobbyist who allegedly had been in Congress with 760 million pesos (US$368 thousand) to convince lawmakers to vote in favor a law that allowed DMG's system of prepaid cards to florish.

The DMG director told the radio station that the wife of renounced RCN Radio journalist Guillermo Diaz Salamanca was DMG's press chief. Diaz and RCN Radio colleague Jorge Lesmes admitted having had ties to Murcia's company. Diaz' wife would know all the names of journalists on the DMG payroll.

He didn't say who could be after the death threats and the prize of his head.
