Betancourt leaves Colombia, heads for Ecuador

Former hostage Ingrid Betancourt left Colombia and arrived in Ecuador early Monday morning, where she will meet President Rafael Correa as part of her South American tour.

According to the Ecuadorean President's official agenda, the two will meet in the Presidential Palace. It is not known how long the President and the French-Colombian former politician will speak.

Betancourt was asked to be the representative of Colombia's hostages and their families Sunday in a meeting with hostage families' representatives.

Ecuador and Colombia have cut diplomatic relations and frequently are accusing the other of not enforcing border security. Colombia has accused Ecuador of helping the FARC. Ecuador in return accused Colombia of allowing right wing paramilitary forces to cross the border.
