Uribe denies family links to DMG

Colombian President Álvaro Uribe denies any links between suspected pyramid scheme and money launderer DMG and his family and says he will let the Attorney General investigate his and his family's tax returns to prove it.

Opposition senator Cecilia Lopez of the Liberal Party had demanded Uribe to give clarity about the possible links after several media had reported about links between one of the President sons and the investigated investment company.

"My children are not corrupt, they are no drug traffickers, they are not glued to dad, they're no daddy's boys, they are not lazy and they are not vague about their income," Uribe said in a speech broadcast live on Colombian national television.

The problem is not being connected to DMG
while it was legal, problem is why it was Legal?

Why is it being investigated recently ?
How come Only Now there bags of cocaine with DMG printed on them.

How can you move this amounts of money and be in the system?

Nasty politics, beware of being the scape goat.

Poetic justice? Why should anyone be excluded? He did the right thing by opening it up to investigation.
Even in a world where investigation can lead to cover up and dismay in the publics eye. You cannot throw stones and be the big dealer. I get the crap beat out of me for a minor infraction, why should they walk they live in the public eye? Let them take the investigation and if they come out clean they will be twice as strong for it.

Do you really think Uribe's sons will be properly investigated! Anyone who investigates Uribe or his family ends up dead or in exile. Look at the journalists that have asked about his past links to Pablo Escobar (in exile after receiving serious threats), or those that have investigated Uribe's links to the paramilitaries in Antioquia (dead). According to US intelligence Uribe's father was a drugs trafficker and his son was deeply involved too. He is corrupt and so is his family.

David, start by having a look at the US intelligence documents on the website of US National Security Archive (http://www.gwu.edu/~nsarchiv/N.../index.htm). Then look at the reports on the websites of organisations such as 'Reporters Without Borders' and the 'Committee to Protect Journalists'. Let me know if you'd like any other sources.
