Three people abroad a helicopter from a value transport company died on Monday when the aircraft had an accident in the mountainous area of the northeastern province of Santander.
Director of Civil Defense in Santander, Captain Gonzalo Ordoneztold reporters that the helicopter was delivering money in the municipality of Betas and it had an accident due to unknown causes minutes into the flight.
"All the people aboard died because of the strong impact that the aircraft suffered. We have not been told about any survivor," Ordonez said.
Ordonez said rescue efforts were being hampered by difficult access to the crash site.
"Six rescuers went to the accident site in an army helicopter, and because the accident happened in a very high area, they had to reach the place walking," Ordonez added.
