FARC offers Venezuela help in case of war with U.S.

The FARC offered to be “on the frontlines of the battle” to defend the revolution of Venezuelan president Hugo Chávez in possible war with the U.S., according to the Bolivarian Press Agency.

The Eastern Block of the guerrilla group said in a message published on the press agency’s website urged the Venezuelan people “to prepare yourselves for the anti-imperialist war,” Spanish press agency EFE reported.

“It is necessary to accompany with the heart, but also with daily practice, the leaders of the Bolivarian revolution, who we reiterate our great respect and admiration. We assure you that if it is necessary, we will be the first on the frontlines of the battle,” said the message published by the press agency.

Since a cross-border raid into Ecuador yielded several computers of Raúl Reyes, numerous alleged links between Venezuelan officials and the FARC have been publicized.

Today, an Ecuadorean report charged the computer data was manipulated after recovery by Colombian armed forces.
