Government presents plan to deal with financial crisis

The Colombian government presented a five-point plan to deal with the current global financial crisis.

Colombian President Álvaro Uribe announced the plan will primarily seek to ensure the financial resources needed by the State, to maintain the level of foreign investment that has been very important for the increase in economy and prevent a deterioration of the local market.

The government will also approach the global banks to fund projects for the coming three years and will try to look for strengthening economic ties with Arab and Asian markets that have not been as affected by the crisis as the United States and Europ.

Uribe reirated Colombia is better prpared to deal with a crisis like the one confronting the world's economies now, as it was in previous years.
