A Shakira production team took to the Colombian jungle to capture new rhythms for upcoming songs, sources close to the artist revealed on Tuesday.
The musical adventure, lead by the singer's boyfriend Antonio De La Rua, took in over one hundred ethnic and cultural events across far flung regions from the southern Pacific coastline to northern caribbean cities such as Cartagena and Barranquilla. De La Rua also took time to visit establishments set up by Shakira's humanitarian project 'Fundacion Pies Descalzos' (the Barefoot Foundation).
According to sources, the team "reached the essence of our folklore" and had "personal and memorable encounters with the masters of local music."
Among De La Rua's expedition was John Hill, internationally acclaimed producer of artists such as Santogold, Natasha Bedingfield and Yoko Ono.
The production team ended the tour having amassed a wealth of musical material of immeasurable value, including genres such as salsa, Pacific currulao, Caribbean vallenato and countless other sounds peculiar to the folk roots of Colombia.
Sources concluded that this great compilation will be brought back to the recording studio to generate new music based on these rythmns and adapted to modern times.

She is a VERY talented artist and she does a lot of good work through different organizations and she brings positive messages about Colombia to the world but truth be told.....by Medellin standards she just is not that great looking.
