UK artist The Decapitator launched an alternative poster version of November's Rolling Stone magazine, featuring a beheaded Shakira on the cover.
The artist, who has been putting up altered posters of advertisements, put up posters of the decapitated Colombian pop idol in New York City after previously striking in London, São Paulo and Paris.
The Decapitator even put out a limited edition of the magazine with the headless Shakira. The "pre-xmas special" was planted in the magazine racks of Barnes & Noble at Union Square.

... That is awesome. The superficial in our society, needs trimmed. More people care about Kanye and his idiocy, or the death of a Pop star, than what is going on with our country. Wake up people. Make your voices heard. More people vote for American Idol than for the president. It's ridiculous. Stop putting these superficial stars on pedestals, and support the real heroes in America. All this chick does is shake her booty, and push her over-rated music and dumbed down lyrics to you blind followers of what MTV tells you to follow (which in turn makes them money) Wake up, Grow up! I say decapitate more celebrities. |

... Awesome, are you trying to act like cool know it all so someone might be impressed with you? If you are…it ain’t workin! The only thing awesome about your comments is the adolescence you demonstrate. Sure Shakira seems to shake things up too much, at least for me. I like her singing but, not her dancing…it is a distraction from the music. What kind of dance would you do if someone offered you a few million to act like she does? For a few thousand you would kiss the butt of Chavez in the middle of Bogotá morning traffic. Shakira has given several million dollars (USD dollars!) to charitable organizations. She has started a fund to teach children how to read, she and some other entertainers have formed an organization to help feed the poor. You can Google and research her efforts and you would be surprised to read what she has done. I could go on and on with all of philanthropical contributions she has made over the years. What is more important though is what have you done? What monies, time and effort, supplies, use of personal time have you donated to charitable organizations or actions…oh oh I know, it just came in to the papers hot off the press. NONE! It is time for you and other like you to grow up and applaud her efforts…sure go ahead and dislike her music if that is your thing but, try to see through sexist bias and applaud the efforts she has made to make things a little better for unfortunate people. makes a lot of money |
